* For all that it's trashy throw-away entertainment, X-Force had some damn good artists in the mid to late 90s - Terry Dodson, Jim Cheung, Tommy Lee Edwards.

* Cannot wait for the next issue of X-Factor as the preview indicates the plot will actually be moving forward. Yay.

* Am I the only person whose coming out as queer was not traumatic or dramatic or any kind of event at all? Because nobody, as I recall, was surprised or bothered and I've encountered very little actual biphobia in my time.

* Right now I am reading one book which talks about the fun of Ren and Stimpy and another that stated that people collect comics because they are, and I quote, 'awesome'. Media analysis is the funnest kind of non fiction.

I rewatched The Hangover with my brother tonight. Both of us agree that we found Knocked Up funnier. We definitely laughed harder in Knocked Up than The Hangover... I thought it was just me. :P

FINALLY somewhat recuperated from AX. It was such a blast in all senses! Of course there were some points that could use some refining, but who am I to complain? It was like a string of small but special events. Thus coming together into one big ball of happiness.

Overall, it was a good experience I think! Of course every event is going to have it's cons (hur hur get it) but the monday after I remember feeling like it was such a DREAM ;_;. Glad I went this year because I got to meet lots of cool cats - literally!

Not much has been happening to my life this past week, except.. payday week sooo...



I got a new haircut. very, very short. I haven't had this short of a hair since.......... Grade 6? No wait.. Never mind, I had shorter hair 2-3 years-ish ago.

Anyway. yeah, huge change for me, considering I've only been getting medium-length layered hair cuts for the past few times I've been to my hair stylist.

So new haircut also led me to finally buying a hair straightener since my wavy hair just can't pull of that look/style I want without looking like a potato. I ended up spending a fortune on that one. *sigh* Let's just hope I don't burn my hair with the extreme inexperience. :P

Other than that, there was a 50% off everything sale at PLEN+Y, so I bought 2 new handbags.

ADDICTED.

Exhausted. Headache. Probably going to bed early.

The special before Merlin on Sunday was crap. Also, in episode 10 Colin Morgan sometimes looked kind of like my brother which is disturbing on so many levels.

Went to one of the comic stores in Chapel St after work but accidentally got off at South Yarra rather than Windsor, long walk, v hot and sweaty. Then I saw the girl who plays Bridget on Neighbours at Windsor station. She has skinny legs. My third crap semi-famous person sighting ever.

Is it silly that I had a tarot reading done regarding classes I plan on taking this fall, and the resulting career, and think I feel a little better about my decision because of it?

I want to say "pft, yeah, it's a little silly. where'd your logic go fm? :|" but at the same time, it really was kind of reassuring to read a second take on everything from a total stranger.

SO CONFLICTING.

I can't decide if I actually feel better or if I should worry about the decision more.

it's a good thing it was a nice lady who also had v. affordable prices, or I'd feel extra silly for having spent money just to feel about as conflicted as I did before.

Ah. So this is one of those "interview me!" memes that was going around AGES ago. I'd gotten operatingroom to give me questions, but I don't think I ever answered them. So here they are.

1. What attracted you to anime? What was the first one you remember liking? If you could recommend anime/manga to a n00b, what would the first three anime/manga would you mention?
I watched Sailor Moon and Pokemon as a kid, but I didn't know that it was anime until years later. I had a friend in high school who was reading comics and manga, and I was curious about it so she lent me some. The first series I ever read was "Ayashi no Ceres" and it was fucking retarded. And I loved it XD I has such a huge crush on the character called Toya, it was rediculous. Then I became friends with starfreckled, who also loved manga/anime, so she introduced me to other series and it just went from there. What I recomend would depend on who's asking, really. I think, as a general rule though, I'd tell people to read Fullmetal Alchemist, because that's the one I really truly fell in love with and turned me into such a huge anime/manga fangirl X)

2. Does it weird you out that your flist thinks your brother is a hawttie? Lol. Hahaha. Good question. It did at first, just because it wasn't a comment I was used to. Once it had been mentioned a couple of times, I just found it funny and would tell my brother about it X)

3. What is your technique or philosophy on photography? Uh.. I can't say that I really have a technique when it comes to taking pictures. What makes a good picture, in my opinion, is when it really captures a moment, a feeling, a fleeting instant in time. When you look at a picture and remember exactly what that moment felt like (or can imagine, if it's not a picture you took), it's a good picture. There are obviously lots of other rules, but I guess that's my base one, and my reason for wanting to take pictures in the first place.

4. What did you want to be when you were 10? What do you want to be now? I can't say that at that age I wanted to do anything. It was when I was younger, maybe 6-8, that I has dreams of aspiring jobs. I wanted to be a goalie for the Mighty Ducks. I was just awesome like that. My fall back plan was vet. When I found out that girls couldn't play in the NHL, all my future job dreams were simply forgotten X) And now? Im not too picky. My goal is to be able to be creative/make things as part of my job.. whatever it is.

5. Are you happy with what you've accomplished so far? Like, if you died today, would you feel that you did the most that you could? I think so, yes. NOT THAT I WANT TO DIE TODAY, there's still so much I haven't done yet (and that I can't yet do because of my age ex. have kids), but yeah. Im happy with what I've done so far. I've had wonderful friendships and fond, fond memories, I have a caring and generous family, I've worked hard in school and had it pay off, I've traveled to some lovely places, and have somehow managed to snag the most amazing boyfriend ever. Hard to complain about what life's given me <3
